A Message from a PublicSquare MomIf Moms look, they can see the Lord's hand in all of the ups and downs on the road of motherhood. There is amazement in watching a newborn baby sleeping, knowing that he/she was knit together in the womb(Psalms 139:13-16). The smile when looking at the artwork on the fridge made especially for mom (and dad) as they are in the grammar school years, is a gift from the Lord. There is the privilege, and at times challenge, to guide adolescents through the teenage years, and to raise them in the ways of the Lord(Deuteronomy 6:6-8). Moms can look to the Lord for, needed help(Psalm 121), strength in weakness(Psalm 46:1), guidance when the path forward is not clear(Proverbs 3:5-6) and in joy when seeing our child laugh and/or succeed(James 1:17).Guiding Through GrowthOur Heavenly Father is faithful to provide Moms with all that is needed to parent the beautiful gift He has given us in children. Speaking from experience, even if it’s the strength to enact ‘doovers’. Here we can(even physically if needed walk back through the door again) go back to re enter the situation with a more positive demeanor to ‘do the situation over again’. Also, an “I’m sorry, please forgive me” from a mom, can go a long way. A key is, by God's grace, and in surrender, to mother in love through the precious years with our kids are under our roof, as well as after they leave the house.Fostering Community and SupportWalking this path with other like minded moms in Christian communities can be of great value. It can be very helpful to connect with Mom's groups in a local church. In addition, there are national organizations such as Mothers Of Preschoolers (MOPS) or Moms In Prayer. Also, in aligning with our Pro-Life, Pro-Family and Pro-Freedom values, another amazing ministry for parents and their teens is called JH Ranch in California and JH Outback in different cities around the country, where “parents, sons, daughters, and students experience an adventure of a lifetime and forge a deeper relationship with God and one another.”Happy Mother’s Day from PublicSquareHere at PublicSquare we honor Mom’s and the God given role that they carry. Thank you to all of the moms who are daily sacrificing their lives for their family, it is not in vain! Also, know that to those who find this to be a challenging day, for a variety of reasons, our thoughts are with you.
